Altimex Ltd, a leading Chester-based company specialising in electronics, fibre optics, and LED lighting, is honoured to announce its recognition as one of the ten careers education champions at the recent prestigious Careers Excellence 2024, held at the Houses of Parliament in March.

This accolade celebrates Altimex’s commitment to promoting skills and creating outstanding outcomes for young people across England.

In partnership with the Cheshire and Warrington Careers Hub, Altimex has been at the forefront of supporting innovative initiatives such as a virtual work experience pilot project.

This initiative, particularly focused on encouraging girls’ interest in digital skills and pathways during COVID-19, has led to Altimex delivering over 500 encounters with young people in the past year alone.

The recognition by Careers Excellence 2024, supported by the Gatsby Foundation and in association with National Careers Week, underscores the exceptional efforts of Altimex Ltd and our Managing Director, Davinder Lotay, in widening opportunities, building future skills, and raising the quality of careers education.

Despite our size as a team, our impact on young people’s lives and their future careers is multi-faceted and significant. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to not only our industry but also to the next generation of leaders and innovators.

Careers Excellence 2024 highlights the crucial role of career education in developing a skilled workforce and addressing local skills needs. This recognition reflects its significant contributions to this goal, aligning with the event’s themes of Widening Opportunity, Building Future Skills, and Raising Quality.

The company’s achievements were celebrated alongside insights from the biggest dataset on careers education in England and calls from Baroness Nicky Morgan and Lord Blunkett for the reinvention of work experience to close the skills gap and address disadvantages.

Altimex remains dedicated to supporting young people’s career education and is committed to continuing its impactful work in collaboration with its partners and the wider community.
