Located in the heart of London’s Covent garden the new store is the only UK venue for Galeria Melissa and is designed to make a bold statement. It is designed to give the customer an uplifting experience as well as demonstrate their range of high-quality shoes.
Brief: To take the lighting design concepts of Muti Randolph and turn them into reality. This involves illuminating clear display boxes which move up and down, edge and top lighting the interactive display boxes in the Tunnel wall and finally producing the completely original chandelier over the stairs.
Our solution: By working closely with the manufacturers and installers we were able to illuminate the moving boxes with bespoke Light panels and power them via the suspension cables. The Tunnel wall also required bespoke light panels and LightFlex Wave along the edges. The whole control system had to reflect the playful atmosphere in the design so the boxes light up at prescribed intervals.
The Chandelier involved us producing a design that allowed us to work closely with the LightSheet supplier and the metalwork company so we could assemble the complete units first in house for testing, then on-site for installation.
