Electronics Test Engineer / Test Technician

Established in 1995, Altimex are an award-winning electronics and fibre optics solutions company. We use the very latest software and test equipment to support one-off bespoke projects as well as large-scale, high-volume roll outs for clients in a variety of sectors including aerospace, defence, security, oil and gas exploration and nuclear. Our scope covers everything from initial concept and design through to electronic and mechanical assembly.

The Role – Electronics Test Engineer / Test Technician
You will support the Production team by taking responsibility for the testing of finished products using both free-issue instrumentation and customer designed and specified test equipment, and carry out fault finding on circuit boards. Drawing on your experience, you will influence parts specifications for customer product changes and advise on the production process.
Our Requirements – Electronics Test Engineer / Test Technician
- Experience gained in electronics test and measurement including circuit board analysis, ideally gained within a production environment
- Either be educated to a minimum of HND in Electronics or equivalent or be qualified through solid experience
- Superb fault finding and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team and independently
- Ability to work methodically to tight deadlines and customer specifications
The Package
You will be part of an ambitious business where your hard work, dedication and contribution to business goals will be noticed and rewarded. Your benefits will include:
- Salary up to £30,000, with the level dependent on experience
- Paid overtime available
- 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, rising by one day each year to a maximum of 33 days
- Permanent contract, working 7:30am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 1pm on Fridays
- Free onsite car parking

Drawing on your theoretical experience, you will influence parts specifications for customer product changes and advise on the production process.
Our Requirements for the Electronics Engineer Intern
- Focus will depend on interest and ability of the candidate
- This intern engineering position will be responsible for providing technical support for the systems under test and interface with production
- An interest in electronics test and measurement including circuit board analysis
- Must be pursuing a recognised UK university degree course in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or other science/engineering related field
- Superb fault finding and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude
- Be able to work within a manufacturing environment and possess strong interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team and independently
- Ability to work methodically to tight deadlines and customer specifications
